Roots

The aim of “Roots”, the Micro event in Heraklion, is the presentation of the way of life of Cretans through their culture and civilization, the most ancient in Europe. Through activities of solidarity, ancient customs and ceremonies, through representations of how people in Crete "meet" nature and each other, a "forgotten" way of thinking and living will be revealed again. A way that mostly appeared in the past in the Mediterranean cultures but which is still alive in the people of Crete. For Omma Studio, the challenge for the third millennium is to go back to the “ROOTS”. Before the main four days’ event there will be parallel activities such as puppet theatre and theatre for children (9-15 July), a masterclass with Eugenio Barba and Julia Varley from Odin Teatret (27 August), a workshop about theater Community by Sebbo Baker, actor of Zid Theatre (3 of September). The main programme of Micro Event includes many Cultural centers, Sport Unions, choirs , dancers, painters, sailing associations, kindergardens, as well as individuals.
